Lani Faith takes an eruption of brutal truths to a place that feels safe

Lani faith is emotionally transparent, that much is clear. I could sense the onset of that tightening, that shrinking feeling that arrives at the shadow of the moments where we decide to confront the very real daggers in the heart this world offers us. Thankfully we have a haven, a musical getaway to keep us in reality.

The work already created here with Lani is reflective of moments where journalling before sleep is the solution to insomnia. There were moments, particularly in the new song Downfall - a lead up to the new EP - moments where I could imagine legacy artists like Taylor Swift would have a history of songwriting before the new day breaks after a restless night.

What’s the secret, what makes Lani Faith stand in this space and move the very fabric of our psych with sound. It feels unguarded, and as she describes “My Music is brutally honest and the lyrics I write are what I genuinely think and feel. I think songwriting is a very vulnerable craft but I lean into that because it produces the best music.”

Fans of Gretta Ray, Darcie Haven, Holly Humberstone. This will resonate with you. I know you will enjoy this. Lani has a stage presence so transfixing, you’ll feel brand new again, forget it all for a while and connect with our humanity and community.

This show is also an opportunity to catch the new songs and some unreleased on the EP for the first time. If the souvenir gig collecting folk find themselves looking to take home something special,
you’ll be in luck.
Posters, hand printed guitar picks sets and you may even score a tote with the tracklisting for the release.
